Welcome

Lily’s Field is a flower farm in south Carlow. Seasonality is at the core of our business, we like to grow our flowers in as natural a way as is possible. Most of our growing area is exterior but we also have some small tunnels that we use mainly for propagation and over wintering tender plants.

We grow a lot of different flowers, taking advantage of annual, biennial and perennial planting techniques. Our market season starts in late March with Narcissi, Tulips, Anemones and Ranunculus. As spring turns to summer we rely on perennial flowers such as Campanula, foxgloves, Iceland poppies and sweet william to name but a few. In June the annuals arrive and as July approaches there is a change in colour tones with the bright yellow and oranges of Sunflowers, Dahlias, Rudbekia and strawflowers all having their moment – a sign that autumn is not far away.

We grow a wide range of foliage to compliment our flowers, Eucalyptus being a firm favourite.

While we aspire to growing all our own flowers and foliage sometimes it is necessary to supplement our own stock with flowers from another Irish flower grower or from further afield.

Our fresh and dried flowers are available to order through our website and at Carlow Farmers Market (April through September and December). For local orders please call us directly on 086 4031052.
